For Business Partners
This section provides information for organisations who are already working with Wandle or would like to find out more about the organisation.
We know the quality of our relationships with funders, our local authority partners and other housing associations is critical to our success. Our strategy is to build upon the good relationships we have established in the local boroughs and upon our reputation for delivering a good quality service.
Preferred Partnerships
In March 2006 we were proud to be chosen again as an approved development partner by the Housing Corporation for the National Affordable Housing Progamme. We were allocated just over £63 million in grant funding for 2006/08 - including additional in-year funding - and we have a further £13 million in reserves which enabled us to build over 400 new homes.
We are also Preferred Partners in the South East and South West London sub-regions and also are Strategic Partners in the South West sub-region.
South London Development Partnership (SLDP)
The South London Development Partnership, led by Wandle, enables us to provide development expertise to a network of smaller, non-developing, housing associations.
We are currently building 198 homes on behalf of members, including 71 funded by the Housing Corporation for our three original partners - Bourne Housing Society, Croydon Churches Housing Association and Croydon Peoples Housing Association. Five new housing associations joined the partnership in 2007: Ekaya, Eldon, Lambeth and Southwark, Millat and Radcliffe.
Awards and Accreditations
HIP Scheme: Wandle launched its Homelessness Initiative Scheme with Croydon Council in 2003. Wandle and Croydon won a UK Housing Award for ‘Best Funding Solution’ for the HIP Scheme.
Performance and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Wandle sets challenging performance targets to improve services, quality and efficiency. We will:
- remain in the top quarter of housing associations for performance
- ensure our performance information is accessible to a diverse audience
- establish efficiency measures linked to emerging best practice
- review performance with the board identifying strategic priorities for improvement
- challenge how we work and what we do by applying for external validation
We report quarterly to Board on 49 overall Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) which cover a wide range of our operations and services provided. In addition we provide detailed reports on performance of individual departments and teams to both the Housing Services and Finance and Development Committees. And our residents Charter Monitoring Group regaularly reviews our performance against targets set out in Wandle's Residents Charter.
