Wandle Incentive Scheme (WIS)
Under-occupation
If you are a Wandle tenant, who is living in a home with three or more bedrooms that is too large for your needs, you may qualify for a grant of £3,000 plus removal expenses if you move to a smaller home with at least one bedroom less. (We will take any rent you owe and the cost of rechargeable repairs out of any payment you receive).
The Wandle Incentive Scheme (WIS) covers homes in Wandsworth, Merton, Kingston, Sutton, Southwark, Lambeth, Lewisham, Hammersmith & Fulham, Bromley or Croydon.
Home Ownership
The WIS Equity Loan Scheme is an interest-free loan of up to £40,000 to help you buy a property on the open market anywhere in the UK, in exchange for moving out of a Wandle property with three or more bedrooms. You can borrow up to 25% of the value of the property you want to buy.
You must pay us back the same percentage of the selling price when you sell the property. At the moment we only offer this scheme in Wandsworth and Merton, as we can’t find enough large homes in these boroughs for residents who need them. We also offer a WIS incentive payment of up to £20,000 to help you buy a property on the open market anywhere in the UK.
The money is paid on the day you complete your purchase.
