Residents' Voice & Deputy

Wandle has introduced the idea of a Residents’ Voice and Deputy for smaller estates and schemes that don’t have Residents' Associations.

The role of a Residents' Voice is to:

  • attend area or scheme meetings
  • represent the views and concerns of local people
  • make suggestions about how services can be improved
  • encourage resident participation
  • liaise with Wandle staff on behalf of local residents
  • report back to all local residents at least once a year.
Wandle will support Residents' Voices by:
  • offering free training in computer and other skills
  • organising local publicity and meetings
  • carrying out local surveys
  • keeping them informed of local Wandle initiatives
  • helping to promote community initiatives
  • helping with feedback reports for your residents
  • re-imbursing expenses.
 Becoming a Residents' Voice:
  • Letters are sent to all residents in the area/scheme inviting nominations for a Residents' Voice and Deputy by a certain date and all nominations are entered into the election
  • Candidates may submit a brief resume to be included with the election ballot papers
  • Ballot papers will be sent out within two weeks of the closing date for nominations
  • Ballot papers must be returned by the date stated on the ballot paper
  • Candidate(s) receiving the largest numbers of votes will become the Residents' Voice and Deputy
  • Results of the election will be reported back to all residents.
