Audit Commission Short Notice Inspection
What's an inspection?
Inspectors from the Audit Commission - the independent watchdog that decides if housing associations give their residents good services - spent three days in November 2009 checking how Wandle is doing on:
- day to day repairs
- gas safety and servicing
- housing income (how we collect rent, other income and help people manage their money)
They looked at how we are doing across all three of these services by measuring:
- how easy it is for tenants to get access to the services
- what tenants think of Wandle’s customer care
- how Wandle caters for different people’s needs and
- whether Wandle gives good value for money
The inspectors collected their evidence by looking at our performance figures; reading our information leaflets, website and other documents; interviewing the Board, phoning residents and holding focus groups to listen to the opinions of residents and staff.
