2001-02 Annual and Residents Report
Theme: Driving Things Forward
Key achievements included:
- Receiving £21 million from the Housing Corporation to develop new homes - the ninth largest award in the country.
- Being chosen as a Preferred Partner by the London Borough of Merton.
- Playing a key role in the development of the Linden Grove Estate in Southwark, and
- Committing to the development of environmentally friendly schemes such as Rutlish Road, Merton and Bishopsford Road, Sutton.
- Setting up a dedicated front-line Customer Services Team to deal with freephone enquiries and an Income and Leasehold Team to handle all rent and service charge issues.
- Reorganising the Supported Housing Team to meet the changing needs of residents and launching a supported housing scheme, aimed at Asian elders, with the London Borough of Wandsworth.
- Appointing a second Community Development Officer to strengthen our approach to resident involvement.
- Introducing the Wandle Incentive Scheme in Wandsworth and Merton - providing a financial incentive for residents under-occupying their homes to move.
- Carrying out a Best Value Review of our Maintenance Service.
- Acquiring Grange Housing Association, enabling Wandle to establish a group structure with a non-charitable subsidiary.
- Going live with Wandle's website and establishing our internal intranet.
