2002-03 Annual and Residents Report
Theme: Equalities and Diversity
Key achievements included:
- Being awarded £24.6 million from the Housing Corporation’s Approved Development Programme - 35% more than the previous year, the second highest award in London and the fifth largest award in the country.
- Receiving a positive report from our Housing Corporation Inspection and a 70% satisfaction score from residents (compared with 67% for other London landlords).
- Continuing with our key role in the development of Linden Grove, Southwark and Hither Green, Lewisham.
- Being chosen as a Preferred Partner for the London Borough of Sutton.
- Continuing the development of the Wandle Incentive Scheme to address issues of under-occupation.
- Working with local councils on choice-based lettings projects in Croydon and Lewisham and expanding provision for keyworkers in Southwark and Lambeth.
- Introducing a new Transfer Banding System which will be fairer, easier to understand and offer more choice to residents wanting to move.
- Working with London boroughs to develop local strategies to meet the Homelessness Act 2002.
- Introducing a Debt Counselling Project with Wandsworth Citizens Advice Bureau.
- Increasing the number of residents on Wandle's Board of Management and setting up a Young People's Forum.
- Preparing for the introduction of Supporting People in April 2003
