2003-04 Annual and Residentds Report
Theme: Looking back - moving forward
Key achievements included:
- Achieving Housing Corporation Preferred Partner status and receiving £68 million grant for 586 new homes to March 2006
- Winning a national housing award for our innovative Homeless Initiative Programme in Croydon
- Forging development partnerships with Bourne Housing Association and Croydon Churches
- Consolidating preferred partner relationships with Croydon, Merton and Sutton
- Working on Strategic Sites at Queen's Road, Southwark and Miles Road, Merton
- Appointing new repairs and maintenance contractors under the procurement partnership
- Reviewing our Resident Participation Strategy and developing an Older Persons' Strategy
- Receiving positive feedback from residents about the way we tackle nuisance and antisocial behaviour
- Launching our new Diversity Strategy and providing providing training in Equality and Diversity for all staff and Board members
- Conducting a Best Value Review of Leasehold Services to enable improvements in service delivery to be made
- Continuing to work with local councils on Choice Based Lettings projects in Croydon and Lewisham
- Working with residents of Brayard's Estate, Southwark, and Hailing Manor School, Croydon, to carry out environmental improvements
- Providing community project for people of all ages, helping older residents to learn internet and email skills, to helping a youth forum make radio programmes.
