Surrey Docks Farm granted funding to sow seeds of wellbeing in Southwark

Surrey Docks Farm will use £5,000 grant funding from Wandle this year to help raise awareness of healthy living and show its visitors the value of growing their own produce.

The popular community farm, in Rotherhithe, will recruit a ‘green mentor’ to reach out to the local community and demonstrate how residents can become part of a green network and effectively sow fruit and vegetables.

Southwark social enterprise given £5,000 to boost prospects of young local chefs

Aspiring young chefs in Southwark will be given free training to take their careers to the next level this year thanks to £5,000 grant funding from Wandle.

The housing association has donated to the Bermondsey Community Kitchen, a social enterprise committed to schooling unemployed local young adults who one day hope to make a mark in the catering industry.
