Grant funding to help empower local children and young adults in Brixton

A performing arts charity in Brixton has been given £5,000 grant funding to help nurture the creativity and potential of disadvantaged children and young adults in the area.

Brixton Inclusive, which holds collaborative workshops for local people aged from five to 18 years, received the funding from local housing provider Wandle as part of its Community Grants initiative.

Wandle’s Treasury team up for national finance award

Wandle’s Treasury team has been named a finalist in the 2016 Housing Association National Accountancy (HANA) Awards, which recognise pioneering and innovative finance in the sector.

The four-strong department is shortlisted for Treasury Team of the Year in the Small/Medium organisation category, open to housing associations which own and manage up to 10,000 homes.

Young Wandle residents join forces to shape south London communities

Wandle residents aged 13 to 25 are getting their voices heard this Spring as part of a new youth inclusion project to help young people in south London shape their local communities.

The Young Inspectors Project, run by youth inclusion specialists Participation People, is giving young Wandle residents the chance to get involved in the running of their neighbourhood and voice opinions on issues which matter to them.
