Communal areas 

The communal areas of your block include the hallways, stairs, porches and shared balconies.  As your landlord – and to keep everyone safe – we have a legal obligation to make sure these areas remain clear.   

If things are stored in these areas, they can be a fire hazard or make it difficult for people to escape in if there is a fire.  It is important that you keep any items you own within your home and not in these communal areas.   

Our staff will inspect these areas on a regular basis and attempt to contact the owners of items stored in these areas.  If we cannot establish who owns them, we will store them for 28 days before disposing of them.
